Funded by the BMZ through the GIZ. Our objective is to transfer IUG work into a pilot wave energy power Plant that will be able to generate up to 10 kW. Alleviating the Impacts of Gaza\u2019s Energy Crisis on Population\u2019s Well-being through Sustainable Electricity Generating Technology<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t

\u00a0<\/p>

Funded by British Academy as part of Urban Infrastructures of Well-Being program. This project aims to assess the impact of electricity shortage on the general population\u2019s and refugees health and well-being and to co-develop a novel pilot plant to provide clean and affordable electricity using the abundant solar energy. The main objectives of the project include:<\/p>

  1. Using a comprehensive and methodological study, evaluate the spatial and time distribution of electricity in Gaza Strip.<\/li>
  2. Survey and quantify the measures used to bridge the gap between household supply and demand for electricity and the impact of those measures on their well-being in terms of physical and mental health, environmental health and cost.<\/li>
  3. Survey the everyday lives of Gaza\u2019s general population and refugees and their living conditions. This will involve an intersectional approach to health and well-being which will focus on specific needs of the community, with a particular focus on the most vulnerable members like women, elderly and the disabled.<\/li>
  4. Facilitate the development of co-produced, multidisciplinary research to inform public health provision and strengthen local and international capacity for implementing research designed to address challenges in public health delivery.<\/li>
  5. Co-develop a new engineering solution with the community, to be used as pilot plant for producing electricity using solar energy.<\/li><\/ol><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
